Day 2 of my trip has been filled with eating, shopping, eating and shopping (mostly both at the same time hahahaha). My uncle couldn't rent a van for us until Tuesday, so between now and then we're just checking out the general area before we do the main bulk of our sightseeing in San Francisco.
We started off at the San Jose flea markets - a giant swap meet with a distinctly Mexican feel. There was a lot to see but other than food, nothing much I wanted to buy. I got to try a churro, horchata (mexican rice water - sweet and spiced with cinnamon - very refreshing), had fresh mango and corn on the cob mexican style. The weather was sooo hot but I'm just so grateful to get away from winter I welcome the sweat and humidity!
When the heat became really oppressive (around 3pm) we decided to cool off and my uncle took us to the local mall for some window shopping. I had all these plans to not spend any money on clothes and other unnecessary things. Sigh. Sometimes I don't know why I bother lying to myself! Maybe I'll try that again tomorrow..
