Jac and joss's bar crawl
Been ages since last on here. Spent New Year's Eve in Wellington was a good night but the fireworks were canceled because of the wind. Sooo much bloody wind in windy Wellington. Good job we are in a hostel. Met a load if sound people at the hostel so been out with them abit. Got the ferry from north to south on the 5th of jan at 2am so very dark and cold so we couldn't actually see any if the sights but it was the last ferry time left. Picton and Milford sounds were amazing. Would have loved to steal a boat and tour around them for a few days. Spent the next few days around nelson the weather was lushhhh. The kayaking over able Tasman was also amazing the 1st two days were unreal saw some seals and a penguin. The water colour was so blue and clear. Then the 3rd day came. Not so good. The waves had got massive and the rain was heavy. We ended up surfing some huge waves in our kayaks with all our gear in (inc tents and phones). We then get told we couldn't kayak back because of the weather. So got picked up by a water taxi and got bloody charged for it. Not cool as we were now on a very strict budget !!!!
Then we went on to the east coast it was amazing the views and weather was so nice. Saw some more seals at kaikoura but couldn't afford to do the whale watching. We are now on the west coast and the wether is s***. Rainy and cold ish about 18c so feels cold compared to 30c of the east coat. And the Mosquitos have also come out to play they are not fun!! Off to the pancake rocks and glaciers in the next few days.
