Jac and joss's bar crawl
Been in New Zealand for more than 2 weeks and havent written in this yet. When we landed from Fiji we picked our bikes up from our friends and set off cycling. Wasn't too bad at first! Headed north from Devon port (just above Auckland ) then we got lost and ended up cycling up highway1 witch wasn't fun. Logging trucks and lorries going past whilst on our bikes with all our gear on then was not nice lol. So we eventually got off that road and stayed in a town called orewa. Was nice , next to the sea. Went into town for a few beers, it was dead! We were sat in a pub bar thing and they were shutting up at 9:15pm not cool. We spend the next few days cycling around and most of that time cycling up biggg hills. We got a ferry over to the coramandal and ended up not getting there till midnight! Good fun putting up your tent in the dark. Got hold of my mate Andy who is a pilot for the skydive lot and he was meeting us at Airport for a fly around. How awesome! But it was a mission to cycle to the airport a 4km hill climb to start the day. It was savvvvage. But made it ! We had been joking about ditching the bikes and buying a car the hole time we were here, when we cycled past one for sale. Jokingly we said let's buy this one. Was a Subaru legacy 2l petrol 2500 dollars. We carried on cycling and joss's hole tyre just exploded. Not cool . We both took this as a sign and took the no. From the car haha. The flight was amazing nice day for it. And we saw a lot, by a lot I mean a lot of hills and mountains. So when we landed we rang the car and bought it there and then lol. Job done we had wheels and a bike rack on the back for ze bikes. Drive over to cathedral cove, some cool huge coves and rocks then went to hot water beach and bumped into 2 kiwi girls we met at one of the campsites so hang with them for a day or so. Hot water beach was so weird. Sitting in boiling hot water pools you have dug on a beach with about 100 other ppl and there hand dug hot tubs. Was amazing. As we missed the bay of islands on our bikes we drive up there and to 90 mile beach but the weather wasn't the best. We have also arranged a big night out in Auckland with 2 of our school mates in a few days buzzing. As its Abit dead up north. We drove for about 3 hrs and didnt see another car. But the scenery is amazing. Me and joss r hopefully surfing tomoz at the bottom of the 90 mile beach as waves look good. At last. Laters.
