Day 52 23/11/09
That morning we headed straight to the airport to get our plane over the Nazcar lines. I sat upfront and enjoyed the experience. It was cool to see the lines creating various animals in the desert plane below. The reason they are not simply covered up with sand is that the surrounding mountains block any strong winds. Sadly the others didn't have a good time; $65 is a lot to pay for 30 minutes of high pitched squealing because your headphones don't work.
That afternoon we enjoyed the pool and the sun. In the evening we went for the world's largest Chinese dish. The plate as fit for an entire roast and all the trimmings, not one person’s dinner. Both Chris (g+b) came remarkably close to finishing.
Day 53 24/11/09
Not a brilliant day, long bus journey to Paracas near Pisco. We stopped first at an Oasis where some when dune buggying and sand boarding. I opted out as my let would not have appreciated either.
Then onto a brief tour and taste testing of Pisco. Definitely better than the sour variety but still pretty rank.
Our hotel in Paracas was very picturesque with a pier that extended out to the ocean. We took pictures played cards and then went for dinner. On the way back Chris managed to put his foot straight into a mud filled tire cut. Nice.
Day 54 25/11/09
Final day of the tour, mainly involved our journey to Lima. Lima itself is huge and we were only in an outer borough by the ocean.
We went for our final dinner at a nice restaurant near a famously romantic bridge just off the main square. The food was very good if a little expensive. Then we headed out for the night the main pub street was named Pizza Street.
