¡Holaaaa!
I arrived in Quito late yesterday afternoon, after a very very long flight!! I was shattered, but I met some lovely people on the plane. Chatted to people in spanish, made friends and got a chance to talk about Jesus which was great!!
Welcomed at the airport by all the Latin Link crew and beautiful mountains!! Quito is amazing, stunning mountains surrounding busy and chaotic streets! Maria, my mentor, picked me up in her old beetle which is just fantastic...im so in love with it! Far off from my nissan micra, although it is green too!
We then went to Pan de Vida, where I will be working, it was really cool and amazing to go, but I was really battling with an insane amount of tiredness and altitude sickness...you don´t realise how high it is until you are here! But I got through the day, and was very much looking forward to my bed!
Jet lag meant I woke up at 6am and found it hard to go back to sleep, but I did after some time reading that amazing book the girls made me...i was so emotionally tired i went back to sleep! But when I got up, the beautiful sunshine and the STUNNING view over the valley made me feel a lot better!
Just been resting today as feeling quite ill, but went into Quito today. Drove down the road where all the Spanish came in to go to the jungle and went to the super rich bit too....so different to the poorer areas! Also had an amazing lunch, no there was no bull penis soup or guinea big, yet. We had chicken soup, which was delicious, no chicken heads either! And rice and fish with some gooood sauce and they make fresh juice with these amazing fruits because its SOOOO cheap here!!!
Going into the city centre tomorrow and also going to pray for a woman who needs healing. Then going out in the evening with the lovely lovely daughter of my mentor, who is a year younger than me.
I start language school on monday and move into the house with the family I will be staying with for the year. So prayers for that would be awesome, also for altitude sickness and jet lag!
Hope you are all well, and thankyou all for your support!!!
