Where to begin.....

We have now safely arrived in Kathmandu and what an amazing place. Words really can't describe the beauty/chaos of this city. Flight was bareable.....Lally managed to steal the window seat and got a good 5 hours sleep whilst I striggled to drop off after one of the flight attendants decided to pour boiling coffe on me. Standard. Airline was amazing though.....no more BA or Virgin Airways for us. Met up with Sonam (guardian angel) on arrival in Kathmandu....well his driver but that was expected. We are currently staying in a "lovely" hostel in central Thamel (tourist area apparently) but are yet to meet any "fellow gap yah travellers'....oh apart from the gorgeous Will....he's leaving tomorrow though unfortunately! Just had a lovely cocktail on the balcony as one does and about to hit Kathmandu City in style (meaning an early night in our gorgeously simple hostel room....no loo flush or lighting....think we better get used to it!!) Everyone is so friendly....difficult to turn people away when they hassle you in the streets but we're becoming more feisty! Not entirely sure of what we're up to for the next 3 weeks....taking each day as it comes but at the moment trekking, volunteering and elephanting seem to be making up the itinerary. Will be sure to keep you posted.
