G'day G'day, how you doing?
Brisbane seems like a laidback city, but I must say I still do prefer Melbourne. It's like home there I guess..
The Gold Coast was a nightmare for me, exluding the Quicksilver Pro that was going on in Coolangatta. I loved it so much! That day was awesome. I saw many many pro surfers do their thing and smash the waves! Unfortunately my battery on my camera run out the night before and Erics camera had so little battery left that I only got pictures of a huge croud surfing. Will upload them for you to look at later. We couldn't spend the whole day down there, because it was such a beautiful day that we got burnt so easy even with the huge amounts of sunscreen on.. And maybe the bbq for the night before made us really tired too. Thanks Tom and Linc for that!
I got to Brisbane and been hanging out in the city, meeting friends and looking for a job....and sorting out my bank stuff with expensive calls to Finland. I found out that my credit card didnt work, just when I was going to buy tickets to come home. Thanks to mum and dad for helping me out a bit, its not nice to go around Australia with $30 in your pocket.
The jobhunt over here is very tiring, but I wont quit until I find something. Im going around the city for 10 hours a day, givig out resumes and answering ads on the internet (even at the moment Im doing that) - just hoping to find some work. I dont really care as long as I can make some money. But I guess the recession isn't making it any easier for me.. or for anyone.
I'd want to go further north, but finding a job in a small town is going to be so much harder than in a big city like Brisbane. I guess I have to wait. Hopefully I will get a job in a club downtown, they liked me, but they must go through all the applicants before they can decide anything. Then after a months time of work Im ready to go down to Byron Bay for the Bluesfest (Ben Harper!!John Butler Trio!!Missy Higgins!!etc!!) and then work my way up the coast, stopping at Noosa, Fraser Island, maybe Bundaberg, then Rockhampton, Mackay, Airlie Beach, whitsundays, Townsville, Mission Beach and Cairns. Im going to go fast so I can fly from Cairns to Melbourne or Perth - from which ever I decide to fly out to Bangkok from. It's not a long time till I have to come home and already its killing me.. I wish this could still go on. There's so much to see and do that it's really hard to leave. Like Melbourne.
Wish me luck in finding a job..
