Hello, here are 7more essential items for the modern pilgrim..........best read with the photo, I think it''s the right way around! So, in no particular order:
1. Fridge magnet|: yes! I know I mentioned this before! but you can probably make out the famous black sausage of Burgos (fridge magnet)...I think this was the reason the Moors finally left Spain in disgust. also. I have found this useful to put on the seat next to me in cafés to avoid conversation.
2'. Swiss Army knife: maybe it' cause I used to be a scout, but it's not really an adventure without a swiss army knife is it? it has a thing for taking stones out of horses shoes which we haven't used yet, but the tiny scissors are useful for nasal hair.
3. boots: Oh my, forget dogs, these boots are a mans best friend. They are Ecco GTX turbo fuel injected rocket fuelled softies that will leave all comers at the lights in a cloud of dust. like walking in ear muffs on your feet.
4. Walking poles: Obviously these are telescopic, otherwise I'd need to be about 3 ft tall? People say they can relive 20pc of your weight which would mean I'd be about 11stone, which isn't going to happen. however I was musing that when fully extended whether I could fit all the doughnuts I've eaten o n the way so far onto them.
5. Hat: Floppy hat equally at home on the Camino as at Wimbledon or a garden party at Buckingham palace? wear at a jaunty angle for that rakish look.
6.socks: these are called1000mile socks from blacks? Would you believe they've invented a material that can go 1000miles without needing to be washed!!!
7: The waiter's friend: With cork and bottle top remover........just off to put it to good use!

Chris Mostyn Excellent!! I may get some of those socks....and I'm not planning on walking 10 or 100 miles, never mind a 1000! Keep on walking both!
Jo Jo Roger, did you know that you can buy underpants with the same claim!
