Hello Koh Phangan!!!
After a whole month at Viva we left yesterday morning for Koh Phangan. Kris took us to the pier for our ferry at about 10.30 am. We have had a wonderful time at Viva, it was so relaxing and exactly what we had planned. But time now to move on to the next place!
We arrived here about 11.45 and Mike from the Glass Cottage met us there. He is an American who has lived here for 25 years. He took is up to the cottage which is just lovely! It's its on the top of the hill. Has gorgeous views of the beach below and is quite spacious inside. Fantastic bed and huge TV and sound system. It is quite a walk down to the beach which is no problem but unfortunately the beach is very disappointing! Rather dirty and full of weed. Water is actually quite clear, but there is so much weed floating in it. And very shallow. So not a beach you can swim in. We had dinner next door at Pui restaurant which was very nice Thai food.
Today we walked down to Thong Sala which takes about 15 minutes. Had breakfast/ lunch at A's who owns the cottage. And then found a scooter for us. Cost 80 baht per day! The weather today is perfect, fine and sunny!
We then went up north to check out the beaches up there. We loved the beach at Haad Salad. Very fine sand and clear water. We checked out a couple of resorts there and decided we might move up there in a few days. Price is quite reasonable as it is low season. This way we would have a nice beach and pool again.
We then went to Koh Ma which is very laid back and pretty. Lots of little bungalows dotted around. Clear water and fine sand again. Came back home and decided to stay in for dinner. We were not hungry and a bit over Thai food every day. Had a delicious dinner of icecream sundae with banana, melon and jackfruit.
