The shots were obviously a big mistake last night as we both felt fairly rough when we woke up. Laura was practically green and made a pretty quick decision that going out to the caves and temples this afternoon would have to be cancelled. I woke up first and headed to the local food stall down the road and had fried pork with rice... don't judge, it is an awesome breakfast! I felt instantly better afterwards and headed back to Lou who was still semi conscious and scolding herself for drinking further, when already tired and hungover. She thought that was the reason she felt so bad... I thought it was more the home made vodka shots. I met the girl we agreed to go out with on our trip this afternoon (from our quiz group last night) and told her we wouldn't be able to make it... Lou was in no fit state to even stand up straight and I was still suffering a bit with a dicky tummy, in the end she headed out with another couple so all ended well in the end!
The morning was pretty much a no go but after lunch Laura headed downstairs to the bar slowly as she was still very fragile and nauseous. Here she was met by a giggle from Jen... Followed by some sympathy and ginger tea which instantly improved the hangover. Laura then perked up a little and started on the mammoth Angkor Wat blog, this however was pretty much stop start due to her chatting with Jen... jeez those girls can talk! Around early evening we were feeling peckish but couldn't face the heat outside and so thought we would try one of the hostel curries. we don't normally eat at hotels and hostels as they tend to be quite pricey with average food but the curries came highly recommended, especially the fish amok and the prices were very reasonable. We were pleased to say the red curry and the fish amok did not disappoint, the portions were huge and the flavours amazed, well worth the price tag! After the curry, the tiredness had well and truly set in and we both headed up to bed. It was stupidly hot tonight and I knew sleeping would be a struggle but we couldn't fight it anymore. We decided to gamble and leave the window open for a bit of ventilation, we would wait and see wether we would regret this as the Mosquitos may well have a 'field night'........
