Inca Rail rules!
Waiting in line to return to Ollantaytambo we finally got to the front oh the line to board coach B as per our Executivo tickets when we were told they had a different train for us. Sarah and Alfie drew a sharp breath waiting for my best British 'but I have my ticket here ...' When we were ushered into carriage A (confusingly between carriages B and C) and to seats with table cloth, cutlery and glasses waiting for a silver service dinner!
There were only 2 other places set, so we had a carriage of 6 with 2 waiters for the 3 course meal. We couldn't stop grinning until the main course arrived. The waiter discretely ignored Sarah and me photographing the menu before delivering our Bellinis! Hahaha. The selfie (my first) was irresistable!
So a free upgrade which pleased us all no end and has probably spoilt Alfie for train travel forever. I don't imagine that the Oruru to Uyuni train in Bolivia will be anywhere near the same standard!
