Thursday 14th June
Been very busy the last couple of weeks!.....
While the weather was still ok we went on a 'Chapmans Peak' drive with a guy we met at our last hostel (Carnival Court) and took a picnic and watched the sunset at a place called Hout bay just south of cape town which was beautiful!
For the majority of our stay its been really cold and wet but me and Esther have still found lots of things to do! We have now climbed all three peaks in Cape Town (Lions Head, Table Mountain and Devil's Peak) - I now think of myself as a mountaineer extrodanaire! We have also been to Robben Island ( a short boat trip away from Cape Town) which is where Nelson Mandela spent time in prison and it was very interesting i must say! We went on a day tour to 'Cape Point' and 'Cape of Good Hope' (the most south western part of the whole African Contenent!) which included a trip to Seal Island (its really nice to see animals in their natural habitat!) and a beach home to 1000s of penguins! Yesterday we went on a wine tour and felt very chilled by the end of the day - we thought we'd get really small tastes of each wine but we were proven very wrong and ended up getting rather drunk!
In between sight seeing and tour's we've just been chilling at our current hostel (Ashanti Lodge), going to Turkish Baths ,museums, meeting loads of really cool people and generally having a fantastic time!!
Sunday 3rd June
Left Durban and The 'Oertel Family' on Friday which was very sad as we'd been staying with them for three weeks and really felt at home!
Got the plane to Cape Town and settled into our hostel which is called Carnival Court and is located on Long Street, right in the centre of Cape Town.
Yesterday we climbed Table Mountain and I have to say the view's were absolutely amazing, we really felt like we were on top of the world!
After a hard day climbing the mountain we thought we'd reward ourselves with some light entertainment - a strip show!! The guys were very nice so check out my latest album for more details!!
Saturday 26th May
Went on a little road trip this week!!
Tues:
Hired a car and set off to sunny St Lucia although it wasn't so sunny! it poored it down with rain and was bloody freezing so we ended up stayin in our little apartment al night!
Wed/Thurs:
Got up early and drove to Cape Vidal which is a beautiful place next to the sea. We set up camp in the middle of the game reserve and me and esther attempted to make a fire but weren't so successful! we had a yummy braii and then went for a walk on the beach. After a few glasses of wine we went to bed, which i must say was the most uncomfortable and cold night i have ever experienced! was very happy when morning arrived!! went swimming the next morning in the sea, it was so warm and the waves were huge - so much fun!! we were a bit scared though as there are sharks in the sea! ahh! We then went for a drive round the game reserve before going up north to Hluweluwe where we stayed in a little hut!
Fri:
Went for a drive round the Hluweluwe game reserve which was huuuge (it took al day) was really fun coz i got to drive our little corsa round all the mountains and dirt tracks!! saw lots of wildlife!!
