Evening All,
Well it has been a busy couple of days, yesterday me and Ed (Dani's Boyfriend) headed out to Lantau to see the huge statue of Buddha, apparently the largest sitting, outdoor buddha in the world. Was raining quite heavily but didnt put us off, headed over on the ferry and then got the bus up to the peak where the Buddha is. Got some good photos, will upload when I get a chance. Then we headed off down the 'Wisdom Path', as we can all do with some more of that, was a nice walk through the woods, the walk itself was a nuber of wooden columns with chinese writing on. We both scrambled up a muddy path, not so easy in flip flops, to get some good shots of the path and of the buddha in the distance. Last night we ate in at the house, the 'helper' wilma cooked up a really nice thai curry...oh how the other half live.
Today I headed up to the Peak to look out over HK, some great views and some great pictures. I then joined dani, Ed and Dani's mum at the Aberdeen Marina Club (I know...how posh!!) for a swim, some lunch, some more swimming and some sunbathing...its a hard life I know.
This evening me and Ed went in to town to Lang Kwai Fong, the main drinking area, had some grub and a few beers while Dani took her mum out for a birthday meal.
Tomorrow I fly off to Auckland, heading into town early as I can check in at the train station anytime during the day. Will hopefully write again on friday once i arrive in New Zealand.
Ta ta for now!!
Ian
