We have just arrived in Wellington and guess what? there was an earthquake here last night! No damage and were obviously ok apart from wondering if we are jinxed.
We travelled have from Napier which was destroyed in 1931 by, yes you've guessed it, an earthquake. It was rebuilt in Art Deco style and the buildings are really interesting to look at. In fact we went on a walking tour with a guide who was able to give us a lot more information. We also went out to visit a colony of gannets, the largest in the Southern hemisphere. You were able to stand within a metre of the colony with all the chicks being fed by their parents.
We will download some more photos to the album, it does take a little time to do. We have also found Lindsays comment on our blog, listed under the actual blog itself.
Sorry to see it is rather cold in the UK, it isn't here.
Linda and Ian.
