Noe then guys
sorry i have not updated in so long but as im sure you all know i am very lazy. Still in KL at the mo and absolutely love ir here. Its a great city where the people are dead friendly and make you feel at home. Since i have been here done all sorts of things. Found a great hostel thats absolutely massive and is right in the middle of china town. The guys who work the nights here are pretty cool and give me beers when we all stay up till 4 am to watch the football!!!
The city itself is quite western although it does hang onto its eastern feeling, especially with all the different races and cultures that live here together. walking around is cool especially in China town where my hotel is right on the doorstep of a great market that seems to go on all night! Its a great place for the food aswell with great resturants all over. Jonno u would have particually enjoyed this curry i had in Little India the other night...was great!
So now the important eating and drinking info is out the way i can tell you the sights i jave been seeing!! Got to Butterworth on the train and had just enough time to catch the ferry to George town before i carried on to KL. George town is cool and spent so long there managed too miss train to KL but fortunately there was a bus so no harm done. Was funny, because i was with two friends named charlie and Wanda (yeah i know) and we decided to accept this bus rideof a dodgey lookin guy who swore we would get down to KL in four hours. So we thought sod it because it would probably beat sleepin in the train station!! Anyway we got this bus the guy driving was a mad man, he had a patch over one eye and drove like he had Fernando Alonso on his tail! Also there was no air con and was sat next to a woman who was big enough to fill both seats so not a great journey all in all.
Got to KL in one piece and like i said found a good hostel, as ling as you can avoid the cockroaches (had ten of the massive b*****s in my room on night) and the rats Douglas and cokeham, you would be in heaven guys. Still from what i gather (and seen) all the hostels in KL are s*** and unless you want to pay lots for a hotel you just have to put up with it.
Since i have been here i managed to go up the KL tower which was once the largest tower in the world (only a couple of years ago) and is now the third. Could see all ove KL at night was great (see pic). Then managed to see the patronus towers or the twin towers and go to the sky bridge which was excellent. Did the National History Museum where a large section was dedicated to the Maritime exploits of traders in Malaysia etc. Cokeham, Power, Alan Wood would have been so proud!!! Went shopping in the KLCC shopping centre which is just epic and very cheap.
Also didnt want to do this but have to talk about the weather here. Its so random. Its hot and humid all day and night but when it rains it really really rains and it starts and stops like someone has just turned on/off a tap. Its so weird. Also had three epic storms here (actually having one now as i type so probably should not bee too much longer) and the thunder and lightning is like something i have never seen/heared. Its great!!
So to round off im glad i managed to come here and has took a tiny little bit of the disappointment of missing out on Vietnam and Cambodia. I fly home on sunday and plan to stay in London for a while before i jead back up north so if anyone is around in the South look me up!! Chat will get in touch mate.
hope your all ok and will see ya soon i hope
