Thought I'd take advantage of the free WiFi here. Yesterday I got settled into the hostel and found some english speakers to chill with, had a wonder round the city past the Plazaa General Belgrano and the rest of the sights. At night chilled on the hostel terrace with a few beers and had some chorripans cooked up for us by Franco, one of the hotel owners. Today, my first full day in Jujuy, didnt spend much time in the city, its ok but b***** all here, took the bus up into the mountains and spent the day swimming/generally lazing around by an Andean river with 3 people from the hostel. Great sunshine and the altitude have cruely combined to leave me a fair bit lobstered like!! Aiming to go out and try some grilled llama for tea tonight. Tomorrow I'll be packing the bags and heading north to Tilcara and the pre-inca pukara(fortress) there, might spend two or three days there if its nice and use it as a base for going further up the valley or over the mountains to the Salinas Grande salt flats.
