Hello!
I know its been a long time since the last update, but truth be told most of the time we have been working, and as interesting as fruit picking is....its kindve a waste of internet time to tell you all about it!! It was fun, an experience, and thats about all.
Id like to say we earnt lots of money, but living above a pub kinda put a stop to that...oh well.
We did have a wonderful weekend on Fraser Island though. We went through a hostel in Hervey Bay, and spent 3 dyas and 2 nights cruising around the island with 11 people in a 4x4, camping, getting bogged in sand, all fun stuff!! The island is more than beautiful - a jurassic park type untouched-ness, and we saw so many animals inc a dingo, turtle, tiger-sharks, sting rays and humpback whales (the last 3 all from the safety of Indian Heads lookout!). The photos are on facebook for all to see, just go to the group "Dwayne Nigel Barry and Bruce" (the names of our 4x4's).
Another fab sidetrip was to the town of 1770, a real tropical paradise of crystal clear waters, palm trees etc. Lets just say queensland is living up to the hype so far..!
So now wev finally left Bundaberg, and are heading up the coast with Annabel in her fab Toyota Carolla. Wer camping along the way, so far stopping in Yeppoon just outside Rockhampton, and Mackay where we spent a fab day exploring the Pioneer Valley and Eungulla National Park. here we saw lizards of the giant variety, and kookaburras a plenty, v australian! Today we arrived at the tropical paradise of airlie beach, and have just booked ourselves on a tall boat for a 3day 2 night whitsundays adventure, which includes a free scuba dive, wish us luck....!!
