Today we traveled from cloncurry through normanton to karumba. We finished the entire Matilda highway (tourist drive) from bourke to karumba. We stopped at Bourke and wills road house for lunch where Isabelle fell off a chair which promptly landed on her, so lunch was then short and sweet with our very cranky little miss.
We stopped in at normanton and saw krys the king of the savanah - 8mtr long replica of the largest croc ever known. Issy got to have a play in normanton library, most of the books looked like they've never been read!
We made it to karumba and we are definately the youngest people in the park... Grey nomads everywhere and just to prove my point I can hear Doris Day just start up in one of the nearby vans.
We went and watched the most beautiful sunset over the gulf of carpentaria... Was so lovely to see sunset over the ocean on Australian soil. Issy got to play in the sand 'at the beach', which she had been asking for for the last week and a half.
Where here for 2 nights which will give issy a bit of time out of the car... There will be plenty of seafood on the menu tomorrow! Maybe prawns for lunch and barra for dinner!
