Hey everyone!
so havnt written in awhile, as while on the farm both computer and internet access was limited... however now we are all the way back in argentina! crazy!
the farm was wonderful; we were able to ride bareback every day on their horse, and our jobs consisted of helping to milk the goats (of which there were 100 plus) every morning early, painting the cheese factory all white, observing making cheese, eating a lot of it, looking after the kids and taking them to the lakes nearby and riding, cooking, etc.
we were so lucky to find such a wonderful family and a great farm! we basically lived on fresh bread, fresh goats milk and cheese he he. it was a lot of fun and such a wonderful experience to have! and the farm was in the most beautiful setting: rolling green fields, each with a few ENORMOUS tress in the middle, tree alleys that made up every dirt road, and the backdrop were snow covered volcanoes. wonderful!
we arrived in bariloche a few days ago, and basically to day it is one of the most beautiful settings ever is an understatement. it is set right in the lake district of patagonia, and is nestled along a lake. it is also the capitol for chocolate in the country, and has the best ice cream around... so i mean i guess we cant complain, ha ha.
two days ago we climbed this mountain nearby, which gave us the true perspective of the area. the top gave us a 360 view of snowcapped moutains, cystal sparkling blue and aqua lakes that rivaled the waters of tobermory in ontario if you have been, beautiful islands and cliffs and great green forests.
it was the most fantastic thing, and felt as though we were on top of the world.
then we went swimming and froze! some of the coldest water either have us have ever been in....
the next day we discovered this path along the water near the beach that led to this little cove like beach that was literally a crystal aqua water oasis with beautiful big rocks and a pebble beach and snow capped mountains in the backdrop. we stayed there all day and swam a lot, although it was so cold it was unbelievable... like ice water.
today we rented bikes and biked a 27 km route that was mostly uphill and upmoutain really. it was very difficult and tiring, and our muscles are pretty sore, but it was absolutely spectacular and definately worth it, and now we feel pretty fit. he he.
we saw waterfalls and cliffs and forests and sparkling lakes and snow and sun!
right now were are both looking out of our hostel which has the best view of the lake and moutains that right now are made even prettier by a soft pink sunset.
lucky!
love love always
