Hi guys, and happy birthday to Jaye for her big 30th. There have been a few in the last couple of days, Hugh, Deborah, Stuart and little Hannah's - Happy Birthday to all. Heading south and feeling the cold. The winter clothes have been pulled out of the vacuum sealed bags, the blanket has been put on the bed, the heater is earning its keep and the puppies overcoats have been put on. Yes we are all feeling the cold now!
Anyway, Brissy, we only had 3 days to see the family so we didn't do a lot except for family and I apologise to those in Brissy that we didn't get to see. Now that we are back on the East coast I will be able to get to visit a little easier. Sorry guys, it's not that we didn't you but time is now not on our side. For one of the days dad took me for a ride on his precious Gold wing which was great FUN. It is amazing how many looks the bike gets. It is a pretty impressive machine and da looks the goods on it with his greying beard and black leathers....We left ma and da in Brissy on Friday morning bright and early after having the fright of our lives thinking that we had lost Carrie. We were busy packing up and we didn't give Carrie a thought because she was in the back or so we thought. We all ran around the block yelling to her but how good is that when she is deaf and can't see? Luckily Chris and Rob arrived in time and found her half a mile up another road - a fair walk for an old girl. My God I have never been so afraid for the little girl. .
Hugh and I had a big trip in front of us about 650 ks from Brisbane to Mollymook (south coast near Wollongong). This weekend has been planned for some time, all the girlfriends from school, their kids and husbands landed in Mollymook for little reunion. In fact, as it turned out it was 19 years almost to the weekend that we flew out for our trip around Europe in a bus singing 'You can't always get what you want'. Deb pulled out pics of us from the years that we have been getting together....what a laugh that was! You can imagine the hairstyles and the fashion. Sharon and Deb come a close second to Jodie for the most fashionable hair. Jodie sported the spiral perm that was curled in the corkscrew that was so 'in' in the early 90's. Sitting in Coventry gardens Jodie looked somethingspecial ,hair brushed just so, it formed a perfect semi circle starting at the top of her head and rounding off at her shoulders for that much desired halo effect. Good one Jodie ;)
The weekend was such a great time. The kids had a ball and Pip and Carrie were model puppies. Abbey was in charge of looking after the girls all weekend and she had a big job. Ten children and 2 puppies to keep in order and what a great job she did. Pip was pampered, carried, walked, run, loved within an inch of her life and she took it all. Carrie slept in between cuddles. The boys bonded and played golf a couple of times whilst the girls went for coffee. Jodie, Deb and I ended up getting away from the kids and the boys Sunday night for a few drinks at the local Golf club for a good girlie chat
So guys, as we are on our last 3 days of the trip there has not been a lot to tell you about. We are 3 days away from Geelong. We have found a place to call home, 29 Mervyn street Newtown Vic 3220 for those that want to write or need a place to stay when in Vic.
UntilI write again.....thinkingof you all and missing you more.
