Dad Helen's now in La Paz, which she says is "the highest capital city in the world". Far Out!!!

Dad Again I'm posting the latest message from Helen.... "Just got back to Cusco from Macchu Picchu. It bloody chucked it down in the morning and we literally couldn{t see 2 feet in front of us, let alone the awesome beauty of Macchu Picchu... fairly gutting. All got soaked to the skin during our guided tour which was also fun. BUT.. we sat it out, shivering, for like 4 hours and eventually the sun came out!!!! It was amaaazing when the sun came out, so beautiful and well worth the trek to get there... just a pain we had to suffer through the morning first! We were lucky though, other people gave up before us and left and didn{t see a bloody thing, even though you pay 45 dollars to get in there! "

Dad Update from Dad again from Helen.... "We are hoping to go for our first Indian since we left England as there is an Indian in Cusco (where we have just arrived now). Checked into a lovely hostel with the best showers in the world. Needed it mind you, as the nightbus was a horrific experience again... got lovely gut rot which is always nice in a bus toilet with no loo roll :/ You can imagine. Right, I should probably get off the internet and actually go explore the city, it is supposed to be incredibly beautiful, a mix of old colonial and inca architecture. It is the festival of the sun this week so hopefully there should be some interesting parades and fiestas going on! Then we are off on trek to Macchu Picchu, but hopefully we{ll have a couple of days here first to chill."

Dad Helen's back on the road again. The British Consulate in Equador has been brilliant and have quickly got new travel docs for the intrepid trio enabling them to continue in their endeavour. (Still no news about Bilbo tho' LOL!)

Dad Helen's been robbed!! All her credit cards, debit cards, passport, driving licence, money etc. Three of them just stepped off an overnight bus to Peru, put their bags on a table and turned away - Bhoooosh!! All 3 of them disappear in the blink of an eye! They now have an 8 hour bus journey to the nearest embassy to report it :-(
