Hong Kong is one of the safest places in the world . . . which is why the following events happened. On Saturday afternoon after we'd finished our mojito's, we were invited out for dinner with our two new Investment Banker friends (Tim & John). Never ones to say no to a free meal (especially at The Sheraton Hotel), we met them at 7pm at the Star Ferry terminal. We generously paid the 50p fare for us all to get over to Kowloon and headed up to the Champagne & Oyster Bar at the hotel for Champagne cocktails and a brilliant view of the Symphony of Lights show (again!). After 2 rounds we went down to the restaurant, them already 150 pounds lighter. The restaurant was beautiful with more stunning views and the food and wine was amazing. After our meal we got a taxi to Ladies Market in Mongkok where, after John had a word with a guy on a stall, we were all led out of the market, into a run-down tower block. If you've ever watched a horror movie, this is the point (parents - refer back to the first line of this entry) where you're screaming at the tv for them to get out of there and run for their lives! However, by the 2nd floor landing Dan had picked up a metal rod ready to attack if need be so we felt relatively relaxed! 3 flights later and a coded knock at a door revealed another guy who dismissed guy number one and took over. He unlocked a metal cage door and led us into a room . . . . Guys i have to take over at this point..... on entering this room, Himmons' eyes began to water, she got goose bumps and to be honest, i thought she was going to pee her pants....... the excitement almost got too much for her, we were surrounded by Chanel, LV, Gucci, Prada, Chloe, Balenciaga, Hermes and Jimmy Choo all stolen from local distribution warehouses and factories. RESULT !!!!! After helping Tim and John choose gifts for their wives (Julie and Fiona - we hope you like your bags) we carefully selected goods for ourselves.. well I did, Himmons just went wild and had to be dragged out kicking and screaming. After a cab ride out of Kowloon and over to Wan Chai, more Vodka and Tequila was consumed, Tim and John left for an early fight the next day to Tokyo and Himmons and I partied like it was our last night, returning to the hotel around 4am sunday morning. A Fantastic Saturday night !
