Bula Bula!
We're back in Nadi after spending a couple of weeks hopping around the various islands. The weather has been baking and life on the islands has been very relaxing with most of our time spent on the beaches soaking up the sun or asleep in a hammock! The people on the islands are really friendly and accommodating and everything is done in Fiji time - i.e. not on time! The islands are really quiet and very picturesque, paradise isn't a description far from the truth!
Our activities have been kept to a minimal, mainly to save some $'s but also because all the activities are the same across the islands! Plus it doesn't cost anything to sleep in a hammock! We have had a couple of fishing trips though, one not so successful where all we caught was a cold and another where a wee tiddler was my only capture! Whilst at the Kuata island we went snorkelling and swimming with small reef sharks which was really good. The coral was also really impressive and at points only sat about a foot beneath the water in the middle of the ocean, weird! I now realise that God didn't walk on water, he merely stood on the coral to give the effect he was!
Food on the islands has been pretty basic, but nice all the same. A diet of mainly rice, noodles, salad and fish has helped us lose a few pounds... pounds no doubt which we'll put back on again (and some) in the US!
Will be in touch again in the US. Vinaka!
