Mt. Ruapehu is NZ's largest ski area. It includes Whakapapa and Turoa. Mt. Ruapehu is an active stratovolcano at the southern end of the Taupo volcanic zone.The North islands' only glaciers are on it's slopes. Ruapehu is one of the worlds most active volcanoes, and the largest in New Zealand.
