There is something strange going on here in Brussels, and I am not referring to the giant brussel sprout being spirited away by a seagull.
On my way to the palace park a street was full of police and there was barbed wire impeding access and a road block. Shortly thereafter, a convoy of police on motorbikes and vans with tinted windows sped down the road. Methinks visiting dignitary-Brussels is the capital of the EU.
I love the things you can encounter in a park. From the couple making out complete with woman straddling him, to the statues of food things Belguim (noteably missing is the waffle). There are mussels, frites and beer though (sounds like a good plan for dinner actually). There is also a sign which states "No Jogging". Great sign, telling me not to exercise.
Actually I am reviewing the convoy as I have stumbled across another one, much longer, and they have held up entire intersection which is really pissing off some drivers. There must be some big event coming up.
Dinner consisted of traditional Belgium fare-mussels, frites and hoegaarden beer. Delicious.
One small point to make-these entries are, for the most, typed on an iphone. The keyboard is tiny and I am prone to typos. Lots of typos. And editing on a tiny screen with the touch screen keyboard makes it worse. So any typos, misspelt words, errors etc are unintentional and once I finish my trip I will go through and edit things properly, with the help of a desktop computer.
