Ok well we have done quite a lot for this to be my first blog entry in New Zealand, so sorry about that. Internet here is more expensive and not as easily accessable as Australia, especially in the smaller places. so its Easter Sunday so Happy Easter to you all! eat lots of chocolate for us because the chocolate here tastes different its just not as good!
So far we have made our way from Christchurch where we started and now we are in Greymouth. So we have gone like Christchurch-Dunedin-Te Anau - Milford Sound - Queenstown - Fox/Franz Joseph - Westport where we are now. Quite a lot to write about really. Our camper van which we picked up on our second day is really cool, its painted in a design of Hairy Mclairy, if anyone remembers those childrens books. it was really weird to drive at first, its like a bus compared to my car, but I got used to it pretty quicky as its an automatic so its pretty easy to drive. its been really good to drive as we can go when and where we want ans stop if we want to ect. Some of the things we've done so far include a boat cruise on Milford Sound which was amazing, Oli did white water rafting in Queenstown, and on friday when we were in Franz Joseph we went on a half day glacier tour which was really cool cause we got to climb up the glacier and go through ice tunnels and things like that.
So far weve had pretty good weather, its obviously alot cooler than australia but considering the west coast is the wettest part we havent had that much rain. When we were at milford sound it was a sunny day with clear blue skies which is pretty lucky considering they have on average 7 metres of rain in a year. we usually either pay to stay in campsites so we have power and showers and stuff or we stay in DOC campsites which are really basic and only a few dollars. the other day we were staying in one and we were about to cook our dinner, we turned around for one second and this bird stole a sausage! luckily we saw cause it nearly got away with 2. its pretty funny but we were really suprised. cheeky bird!
anyway we are going to make our way around to Hamner Springs then to Kaikoura before going up to Picton and then the North island. I will try to write again soon/upload photos. All my australia ones are up now. byee xx

Dad & Mum Thanks for this latest blog Holly. We have all read it today at Manor Farm House where we were for Easter Sunday. Sim's were there as well. Everyone sends love and those old enough to understand are very jealous. Hope that you are both now used to the colder weather although that picture of you climbing through the ice tunnel in waterproof, walking boots, crampons and SHORTS!! takes the biscuit :-). Love you, Dad & Mum xxxxx
Holly OK well that morning it was really hot and the instructor people said we wouldn't need hats or gloves or anything as it was warm. then we got up there and it clouded over and it was pretty cold. but I had lots of layers on top it was just my hand that were cold really. must look weird though. It hasnt been that cold though apart from that and now we are up more north its warmer. love you too xxxx
