we arrived in sydney our last stop in Australia on the 18th. Getting off the bus we were all set on having a pretty big nap....until our hostel said we couldnt checkin until 2pm/ so we had some tea to revive ourselves slightly and decided to do some sightseeing. We walked from the centre through Hyde park and the botanical gardens where we had a lie down and some food (feeling very unhealthy as there were about a million runners) then on to see the opera house and harbour bridge, taking lots of the standard photos on the steps. that night we were set for an early one but Esme (my friend who lives in sydney) called up so we caught the train to a bar to see her, which was lovely. the next day Oli and Emily did the harbour bridge walk. on the saturday we went to the blue mountains which were amazing! we saw the 3 sisters, wentworth falls, and we went on some very scary (in my opinion) sky rides. the first was a cable car thing between two cliffs, then one down into the forest, then up on the worlds steepest railway (in the pic) it is likw 52 degrees steep and you face forward while going backwards it was not my idea of fun. we saw emilys friend verity also while in Sydney. on sunday there was a st patricks day parade which was fun but it was so hot that day so we didnt stay long. on our last full day we went to Bondi beach, it was cloudy in the morning but when we got there it was really sunny. the lifeguards there are famous as they film this show called Bondi rescue. we saw it being filmed while we were there it was all very exciting since we watched the show quite a lot in Perth. that night we went out with two of olis friends from school who were also in sydney. it was a bit of a mistake seeing as we had to be up at 5am to get to the airport for our flight to Christchurch. But we made it with plenty of time to spare. it doesnt feel like over a month in Aus and I bet new zealand will go just as fast. I have to run now will try to update again soon byee xx
