From singpore we went to Melaka before going on to Kuala Lumpur. it was more of a culture shock than in singapore cause there everythings in english and its more westernised. much cheaper though, we paid about 2 quid a night for accom in Melaka. we went to a night market there on our first day, which was pretty mad, and then we looked around soem museums the next day, before going to the cinema to escape the heat for a while.

Kuala lumpur was different too, we got off the bus in a different place than expected as the normal bus station was closed, so we had to get the lrt in to the city which was confusing at first. weve got a se asia lonely planet guide though which has been a life saver as its got loads of maps of each place. we found a backpackers in the centre of town. hostels have been very different in asia. since singapore we havent had air con and weve had our own room as they dont have as many dorms here and its a similar price. while in kuala lumpur we went up the petronas towers to the sky bridge, which is really high up but some good views. we had to go all the way out to the bus station to book our night bus to thailand for the next day, so that was a mission. china town in kuala lumpur is mad, at night you can barely walk through there are so many stalls, and you cant walk two paces without someone going 'lady! bag for you? any dvds?' it was fun though, they had some good knock off designer stuff for pretty cheap. we spent 2 nights in Kuala lumpur, then left on the evening of the 3rd day for thailand.
