Hey,
Since my last blog message I have been shopping some more. I went to Mrs Macquaries Chair and Point yesterday in Sydney's Botanical Gardens and got a view of the opera house and bridge from a completely different angle.
Today in the morning I went up the Sydney Sky Tower to the highest level you can go unless your a sky walker which means you go to the very top of it. the views were different from the others I have already seen.
This afternoon at 15.45 I went on my bridge climb. I would definitely recommend it. I went on a twilight climb there was 11 people including me, 3 japanese, 4 scottish, a malaysian girl and a german couple plus on top of that 11 2 guides ed and shane. You get an awesome sight of the sun setting as far as the blue mountains and then all the lights come on over the city. It was very windy up there and you get some much stuff to carry.
You first put a bridge climb suit on, then you put some thermally sort of trousers on (only in very windy conditions), then a waist/ hip belt which you pull tight. then a heavy ball shaped climber thing which holds you on to the static line the hole way up and down. On top of all that attached to the belt are two bags one with a fleece in it on the left side and one with a raincoat in on the right. After that you also get a radio and you can have gloves which are on elastic and have to be wrapped around your wrists and a hanky which is also on elastic. you also get a beany hat clipped on the back of you and a headlamp also clipped on. Plus finally last but not least a connection from your radio to you headset which is placed on your cheekbones to leave your ears free to hear the sounds of the city.
Quite amazing seeing the amount of cars coming over the bridge.
anyways I am not sure when I will write again as I go to New Zealand on wednesday morning.
Lots of love and hugs
Holly xxx
