Hola :)
Well, the last you heard from me I was surrounded by southern USA accents and about to board the plane to JFK. I'll try and remember everything thats happened since then.
------Atlanta
SO, I packed up my stuff and moved away from the window and headed towards the gate. We were first class on this flight so we were allowed to just walk on. It was so strange. As soon as we stepped on the plane we were offered drinks by two very friendly staff. Our seats were right at the front of the plane so they had plenty of leg-room. It was so surreal. Once everyone was on we set off to JFK. The journey went fairly quickly and it was nice to be doted on after all that fuss. We got lunch on the plane - chicken satay skewers with breadsticks and fruit and cheesecake for afters. We even had proper knives and forks, and our drinks came in actual glass.
As we landed I got a glimpse of New York, slightly far in the distance. It was amazing! Even from far away it got me excited and reminded me that I was in AMERICA! I saw the empire state building I think, it was very tall so I assume it was. JFK is also quite a big airport and I was worried about the connection times but we had plenty of time after getting a bus to the terminal. Very soon it was time to board the plane to BOGOTA! Once again we walked past everyone and got on, and this time I got offered champagne (I wasn't going to turn that down) while Gemma had a Mamosa. This flight was even better than before. We had big pillows and a duvet thing. For our meal we had a starter of smoked salmon with lentils and goats cheese salad. It was so nice. For the main we had sea bass and for dessert we had an ice cream sundae. It was so nice. I also watched a film on demand - the impossible. It was so excting flying over america and then Cuba. Its made me want to visit everywhere haha :) At about 9.50 it was time to land in Bogota. When we did, we stayed on the runway for a while because there was "confusion with the gates". This sums up colombian life quite well. Organisation is not a strong point, but you just have to get on with it. :)
I will tell you all about Bogota in my next blog :)
