As I sit here cramming in all the final test preparations for my LAST TWO finals for undergrad coursework EVER, I can't keep my mind from future-tripping to Ecuador. So I thought I would start my blog with this entry-from good ol Corvallis. I will be leaving PDX at 6am on January 1st. Ringing in the new year with a flight out of the country may seem a bit extreme, but hey, what the heck?! I was sitting here last night, looking out the window at the sky, it's typical winter grey-lavender hughs, thinking, I wonder if these colors exist in the skies in Ecuador? Personally, I think they are probably unique to the Great PNW, and Ireland maybe. I actually think I will miss the overcast weather here-for about one second. But never fear, I will be posting plenty of sunlit pictures for you from the equator so you can stare at them and daydream yourselves into a warm and fuzzy coma while sitting curled up in a blanket with a fire lit, trying to escape the inevitable bone-chilling rain which is soon to begin here in the valley;-) Ok, so I'm not so much going to miss the weather, I will however, be missing you all terribly. That being said, I hope I get to see you in the next few weeks before my departure. Next stop-the Southern Hemisphere-to explore the bottom half of the globe! Land where monkeys and lizards roam free, comparable I'm sure to the large population of ferrel cats in the alley behind our apartment ;-) More exciting news to come... stay tuned!
