This morning we had a presentation by a YWAM team from Hong Kong to increase awareness of missions in Asia. While they spoke I felt really confused because I got excited about all the opportunities. I want to go to many places in Asia, and I know God has given me a heart for it. At the same time, I know I have a heart for Sweden. I want to settle down there, grow old there. What to do?
Sunny, Susan and I went to the city for the afternoon. Susan introduced me to a fantastic book store. It was a massive building filled with first editions, new, used, rubbish, classics, music, old photos, and anything else you could imagine. As I went to the back I found the foreign language section so I perused to look for learning nepali, or russian. That is when I caught sight of books in other languages. So of course I looked through them. Imagine my delight when I found more than 5 books in Swedish! I gleefully read their covers and picked two of my favourites! Små citroner gula by Kajsa Ingemarsson and Populärmusik från Vittula by Mikael Niemi.
Hallelujah! I haven't seen a book written in swedish since IKEA (and they won't let me buy them). And thank you Aunt Lois for sending me money for my birthday! I don't feel quite so guilty buying things for myself if it's with birthday money.
Then later on in the afternoon in the window of some clothes boutique Sunny saw a bicycle and commented on how she wanted it. I looked at the tag around the handles and noticed that it was some fancy Swedish bicycle.
hmm...
Sweden it is!
