Walker's Travels in Scandinavia 2017 and others
Day 36 Wed 15 Jun 16, Esperance, cloudy with occasional drizzle, 10 to 17 deg. A nice rain-free walk started our day. It was particularly pleasant along the esplanade with the sun just coming up. The neatest and best looking esplanade we've seen for some time. The piles of seagrass on the beach were an indication of some recent rough weather. After brekky we took a drive out to Cape Le Grand, allegedly it has the whitest beaches in Oz. We doubt it, while we're not prejudice, we do believe that Qld has the best of everything particularly beaches. Maybe we could also send them some sunshine because there was also a distinct lack of that at Le Grand too. It was a nice spot, friendly roos, beautiful blue water and fairly white sand. Would have been even better if it wasn't drizzling with rain. 102km round trip. As we were driving back to town the sun came out so it was onto the bikes after a hot brew. Had a great afternoon exploring the esplanade, harbour and foreshore. The local council must be really flush with cash as they have put a lot of money and effort into the whole town, particularly the esplanade. Stopped for a chicken wrap at Maccas and then rode out to the Pink Lake. Wasn't really pink, but that may have something to do with the fact that by this time we had exceeded our daily allowance of sunshine so there wasn't much light to show the lake at its best. As it was getting a bit cooler by then we decided to call it a day. 23km cycle. Greg took over the cooking duties tonight and made savory mince. Not as good as Mum (or the Head Chef) used to make but it filled the spot.

Susan Parsons Is that where you get the pink lake salt from? They say it's as good as the Himalayan salt.
Gunther Where is the water in the pink sand pit... ?
