1/09/2011 Day 23. Venice.
Got up today at about 8.30, the van was boiling so we had to escape. We brought ourselves round a bit and headed to the buffet breakfast at the campsite about half 10. €5 was nothing compared to how much we ate and drank. Lots of orange juice, coffee, croissants, tarts (haha), cereal, ham cheese and salami butties. We definately filled our boots to set us up for the day. We heard lots of thunder at about 12, constantly roaring, probably what was left from the thunderless lightning we saw last night. We thought it was going to rain so we chilled out a bit at the campsite. 2 o'clock came around so we headed into Venice again. We were looking for souvenirs, rolled up pizza and spritze again. We had a good look down the alleys we hadn't conquered yesterday. The sun was beaming again but we were kept cool by the shadows of the buildings and a great breeze. I got a rolled up pizza with ham, cheese and salami I think. It was great! 3 euros so I thought... Bargain! Some more nosing around and taking of pictures we headed back to santa Margherita square and had some more spritze. Me and Aaron had some empty water bottles, we heard that there was a local place who fills up your bottles with wine. We found said place and got 1 and a half litres of white and red wine. We paid €3.80 each for this, bargain once more. That'll see to us before the pub crawl we hope to go on in Rome tomorrow. We headed back then at about half 7. We went to a pizza shop and I got a massive slice of pizza for €2. I was so full, I felt a right pig. Bus back over the immense bridge between Venice and the mainland and we were back. We didn't buy a ticket either, so naughty of us. We just spent the night chilling out before the epic 6 hour drive again tomorrow. It's 9.20 and we're sat outside, the campsite restaurant is blaring out a Blue CD, the song now is Iiiiiiiiiii, I can't breath easssyyyy. Woohoo. I recognised an Italian cover of high school musical earlier too, to my embarrassment :) anyways, finish blog time now. See you on the next instalment.
