14/08/2011 Day 4. Berlin 2
Woke up about 9, had a lie in. Got our stuff together and headed for the U-bahn. Into the centre and boom, another lovely sunny day, good job I packed the sun cream! We headed for the Bundestag again (once the Reichstag) to try and get in to walk up to the dome. As we arrived we heard that you have to book a couple of days in advance though the information booklet says, no booking necessary. I then overheard a yank telling a story of what the slates were for to my right. These slates all had names of politicians who once spoke up against Hitler, he quickly hunted them down and killed them. We then went to see some of the remnants of the Berlin wall and there was a man who stamped passports with all different visas when Berlin was divided until 1989. I got French, Russian, American and Brittish visas stamped. Around the corner was the Sony Centre, a huge building/courtyard with different shops, bars and cafes around. On another walk we stumbled across a Bugatti/Bentley showroom and there was a Veyron! A lot smaller than I thought it would be. Unfortunately on our way back it started raining. Crap end to a good day.
