9/09/11 Day 31. Paris Day 2, France
Up bright and early this morning, 7.50am our time, 6.50am your time. Had a freshly backed croissant and pain au chocolat for breakfast - gorgeous! I had to wait until after 10 to be able to call my mummy at work to tell her about the happenings. We got the shuttlebus into Paris to a placed called Port Maillot. We walked down from there to see L'Arc De Triomphe and to witness the carnage that is the roundabout . On our journeys we saw the Pompidou centre, Notre Dame, La Louvre, we walked down the Seine and saw some art stalls. Then we had a coffee in a cafe like the local Parisians, when in Paris ... I spoke to the woman in French too. I asked how much does it cost for one coffee? (I think) by saying, Combien pour un Cafe?. We went down the catacombs where 6 million dead bodies are kept, quite a lot more than the 40,000 of the Church of Bones in Kutna Hora! Then the Eiffel Tower at night. We were there for 3 hours in total with queuing, looking and queuing to queue. We stayed to see it light up at 10pm, it was really good! Arrived back at the campsite at 11.30pm then jumped into bed. Bruges tomorrow!
