Well we managed to get to the airport and eventually fly out of Heathrow despite all of the snow, and land safe and sound although "a little" tired after the flight.
We arrived into Auckland early and its was already hot so threw our bags into the hostel, had a shower then headed straight into the city centre to walk around like zombies. After mooching down to the harbour and looking around all the shops and the Skytower we thought we'd leave most of our sightseeing until the next day...
We had a fab day on foot around the city, walking up through the Domain to the Museum which was really interesting and only $5. After that we headed back into the city for some sushi (theres bloody loads of it here) and thought we'd make our way to the Harbour Bridge, then we realised exactly how far away it was so decided against that and opted for a pint at Viaduct Harbour instead :)
Our third day in Auckland was a bit different, we met up with some of my (Vicky) relatives and had our first proper Kiwi BBQ and what a spread it was!! Lovely slow BBQed lamb and more types of salad than you could throw a stick at. All of the family were fantastic and very welcoming and all in all it was a really good way to start our trip...
