After our big adventure to the supermarket n Perth we had an exciting walk around the city to see if we liked it enough to stay. First impressions of the city were good so we wanted to see abit more. Turns out it's a very nice place. Have been down in Albany for the last 3 days (south of Perth). Took us 6 hours on the bus (so glad we are back to long bus trips again, I have missed them so much!!) and as soon as we left the bus (or alighted as they say here) we were complaining about the cold. Our hostel is really nice, very friendly staff, we even got free beer tokens, email, and we get free cake and coffee every day at 6:30. It's the best place ever! First night here we even managed to get free wine from the Kiwi guy staying in our room and then in the morning he gave us a lift to middleton beach in his Ute to watch the whales. Which was amazing. Saw about 4 or so, and they were jumping out of the water and flipping there tails, I was so excited I was jumping up and down and screeching like a little kid. Then in the afternoon we went to book our diving and then hired a car and drove to Whale World. Basically the last Whaling Station in Oz. Had a very informative tour and got to look at some pretty gory pics of how they slaughtered the whales, wasn't pretty. On the drive back we stopped at some blowholes, a big rock gap thing and the natural bridge (see pic on right). Today was pretty cool. Went wrech diving to the HMAS Perth. Was bloody cold mate!!!! My lips turned purple. Was totally worth it though. The ship was huge and still in really good condition, any wreck I've seen as just been a few bits of metal on the ocean floor. Spotted an Eagle Ray, and yes I did worry when I first saw it that it might have been the same type that took good old Steve, but we were ok. On the second dive we actually got to swim inside the ship and I sat on the skippers chair that still span around. Was quite creepy cos it was really dark. Oh and of course I did the Titanic impression at the bow!!! Heading back to Perth tomorrow and then off on a 4/5 day tour up the west coast on friday. Weather is supposed to be better up there, fingers crossed cos I don't wanna have to buy anymore clothes!!! Must dash, laters dudes!!!!! Hev xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
