Hello there! Sorry it has taken so long to update my website. We have been on the road pretty much non stop for the last 12 days. Sarah's (now also known as Sevo) Dad arrived on the 16th Nov and they flew out to Ayres rock, think I may have mentioned this alredy, nevermind hey? Anyway, Jewelz arrived on the Friday night and we went out to the Side bar, which is the bar under the Wake Up hostel where me and Sevo stayed when we first arrived in Oz. The next day we had a wander around some shops and had a quiet night at the hotsel in the courtyard. Then went to Bondi the next day for the afternoon. Would of stayed longer but it was bloody freezing!
Sevo and Pops returned on the Sunday night and we went to pick up our car the following morning. Had to upgrade because there was no way were fitting all of our bags in a 3-door Hyundi. Headed for Newcastle for our first stop. Stayed for 3 nights and spent one day on the beach and one day doing the wniery tour. Went to quite a few different oned than last time do it was all new and I loved it - again! Did meet 2 girls on the tour from Wotton under egde, which was a little freaky, as we knew some of the same people!
Made our way to Coffs Harbour, stopping over at a Koala Santuary for an hour, where we got to pet the Koalas and Roos. Only stayed the one night in Coffs, which happened to be Sevos b-day. So we went out for a meal and watched, what can only be discribed as the worst Karaoke I have ever seen/heard in my life. We were in hysterics the whole night.
Next was Byron Bay for one night. We would have stayed longer but we could not find anywhere with space for the weekend (due to all the Schollies bein there to celebrate end of year), so just spent a bit of time on the beach and then drove to Nimbin where we stayed for 2 nights. Nimbin was a total chill out place. Our hostel was on the top of a hill with a gorgeous swimming pool and set in lush gardens. Really didn't want to leave. But alas, we had to and our journey then took us to Surfers Paradise (just for lunch though), was full of schoolies so we were quite glad that we weren't stopping over. Stopped over in Noosa for 2 nights to go and explore the National Park. Did a walk along the coast to Alexandra Beach, stayed there for 2 hours and then walked back through the bush. Was nice to do something a bit different.
Drove to Hervey Bay from Noosa. The hostel we stayed in was lush (Woolshed). We had our own room, no bunks, air-con and a dvd & TV, absolute luxury. Had a relaxing night, after going to Vic Hyslops Shark Expo (loads of info about shark attacks and a big Great White in a huge freezer that you can look at), as we had to be up early for pick up for the Fraser island tour. I know I have been before, but it is a gorgeous island so I was quite happy to go again. We only went for the 1 night this time and with a different company, so I got to stay on a different resort. We visited Central Station (walk along a creek through the rain forest), Lake Wabby, Maheno Shipwreck, Indian Head, Eli Creek and Lake MacKenzie. Weather was not too great on the first day and I stayed in Lake wabby for as long as I could because it was raining and colder out of the water then in! Secong day was really hot though, so we got to sit in the sun at the Creek and MacKenzie.
We are now in Airlie beach. Had to stop over in Rockhampton for one night as it would have been a long drive all the way from Hervey Bay. Rockhampton was like a ghost town when we arrived, because it was Saturdya afternoon everywhere was closed and no one was around. We did go out for a Steak though in the eveing and there was quite a few people in the pub. So I have come to the conclusion that they are Vampires. Sevo and Pops are going on a 2 day trip around the Whitsundays but I have decided to stay in Airlie and save my money to do some Scuba Diving here and in Cairns.
So I think that is it for now, sorry if there is not much detail, but internet is expensive and I figure this way I will still have stuff to tell you when I get home.
Bye for now x x x
