Yesterday we drove 268 miles from Acadia to Littleton Massachusetts. We are staying at the Minuteman Campground about 30 miles from Boston. It was a longer drive today and any of the days before, but we left early and even with some traffic we made good time. Our last day in Acadia we set out to explore the Park Loop road, our first stop was to finally take a picture by the NP sign. After that we stopped at the Wild Gardens of Acadia. We strolled around the gardens and surrounding Nature center. We walk a wooden trail for about a mile where Kati got to take pictures of a few birds, including a close up of a wood pecker. This is our second day in Acadia. We headed out late morning to arrive in Bar Harbor during low tide. The purpose for this is to be able to walk across to Bar Island and hike the trail. It was very cool to walk across, we saw shells, algae, and star fish as we got across to the island. Once in the island we hiked to the top, the view is mainly obstructed by the vegetation. Two days ago we left NH and drove 212 miles to Maine- state number 47 for me. The drive was very pretty through the northern part of the state along Route 2. We drove North East and then South around Mt Washington. As we got to Gorham we could tell this was the tourist town of the area. Today was a relaxed day. Some slept in while others sat outside enjoying a cup of their favorite hot beverage and reading a book. It was not warm enough for the pool.
