I've always loved stories. Whether it's a book, movie or a random conversation with a cab driver, there's nothing like a good story. My love of stories goes back to my childhood and the best storyteller I know, my dad. I'd beg for a story before he took his afternoon nap and sit captivated while he made up amazing adventures filled with wild animals and crazy characters. When he'd inevitably doze off at the best parts, I'd impatiently shake him awake wanting to hear more.

It's why I was a history major-- history is a collection of the world's most interesting stories. It's why I've worked in advertising, which at its best is culturally relevant story telling. And it's why I'm taking this trip--the world is full of incredible cultures and people and I've missed being a part of it.

I haven't been able to travel outside of the US for the last 15 years so I'm making up for lost time! The next 3 months will take me around the world seeing places, doing things, hearing stories and maybe telling some of my own. Please excuse any parts where I may doze off, it's genetic.
