Wow! Today was the best of the trip so far. "Why?" I don't hear you ask (if you did ask you're too far away for me to hear). Three main reasons: 1. A beautiful sunny day (well, 95% dry) 2. Over 200 miles of fantastic roads driven - both the 1 lane with passing places type, and the 1 lane each way type. 3. The best scenery yet - for the whole route. Today was a day of sunshine and showers - in fact it was dry most of the day, but did have a tendency to rain when I was out! I left Skye via the bridge and headed to Eileen Donan Castle. You'll know this one as a snowy picture of it hangs in my dining room. I'm glad to say there was no snow but as I arrived at opening time it was raining - and there were already half a dozen coaches there! The heavy rain continued all night and was still hammering on the breakfast room (conservatory) ceiling in the morning, so much so that I felt like Henny Penny and that the Skye had fallen in! It had rained all night, though thankfully it had stopped by the time a very sodden Minx and I left Arisaig for the 10 minute drive to Mallaig for the ferry to Armadale in Skye.
