Yesterday we left Venice and headed to Verona (Juliet's balcony). Absolutelu fantastic town and I want to go back. Didn't have nearly enough time. Shoppingg really good. Next headed to Lugarno in Switzerland where we went on a paddle boat on the lake. Then we got lost trying to find the hotel near Verese. exhausted after a hard day shopping and sightseeing. Started off at 7.45 am for the 45 min trip into Venice then hopped on a "private boat" to Murrano and the glass factory then to St Mark's where we had a guided walking tour. Met up again at midday for our gondola ride with serenading - fantastic. After this we had 4 hours to shop so we did. went to Assisi this morning and the St Francis Basilica - fascinating place and beautiful church. Finally arrived in Venice at 7pm after being stuck in traffic jam for 2 hours in Appenine Mountains Dinner tonight nothing like what it was meant to be but at least we got coffee

Done Rome - St Peters, Vatican City, Sistine Chapel, Pantheon, Colossseum, Piazza Nevona, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Stps plus a "typical Italian Dinner" withserendading and way too much food and wine. Isle of Capri was fabulous as was Pompei today. We are now in Assisi and have just been to the local wine vbar for a few cocktails with some of our trvellin g friends.
