Fantastic breakfast, "Hotel Cairns" will have a lot to live up to.
Pro Dive picked us up at 08:30. Met by Awesome Jack (our classroom instructor) and Nervous Andrew (on trial for a job with PD)
The day was filled with classroom in the morning, medical at lunch and our first pool session in the afternoon. Met "Normal" Georg from Munich who was taking a parallel course for German speakers
The course was run at a frenetic pace and Nicola decided at the end of the day not to continue but would join us all on the boat trip and snorkel the Great Barrier Reef.
Despite having homework to complete before the next day we attended a 2 hour lecture at Reef Teach on the fauna and flora of the reef. We came away from the event with the following guidelines,
1) The reef is fragile - Do Not Touch It
2) If the fish is ugly - Do Not Touch It
3) If the fish is pretty - Do Not Touch It
4) if the fish is bigger than you - Do Not Touch It
Overriding rule is -DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING!!
Back to the new base "Hotel Cairns". It is CRAP and Pretentious. If you are planning on staying in Cairns DO NOT TOUCH IT!
Nicola not happy as bar was closed and she had no drink after a stressful day. Homework finished we went to bed at 23:30. Oh well this holiday lark is nothing like work
