What a day, What a day!!!!
We woke up at 5am - I was so tired and then we headed to the airport. we arrived and went to check in. The heating was blowing really hot air on my head and all of a sudden I felt myself fainting! Not good at 6am! Poor Kerry had to look after all my stuff as I sat in the airport over heating and feeling very poorly! We checked in and it didnt help that I was nervous about flying!
Being on the plane actually made me feel better which is quite strange, I could breathe! We took off and I was fine - the flight was nice and easy and we landed 15 minutes earlier than expected which was good as we only had 1/2 hour to change planes! We got on the next plane and had to go back on the exact route we had travelled on 30 minutes earlier. All in all it was a good flight except the rude hostess and a brazillian lady who decided my legs should have no room at all. We watched Music and Lyrics (The new Hugh Grant film) of which the captain interrupted about 10 times as he seemed to more of a tour guide than a bloody pilot! As we landed a massive British Airways plane heading for Heathrow took off next to us which was freaky.
We arrived in Sao Paulo and there was so much smog everywhere. It covers the sky, the horizon, the streets everything! We couldnt even see the city from the plane! Pollution here is the worst I have ever seen - I need one of those face masks! We got a taxi to our hotel. On the way it reminded me of home becuase the cars were the same as what we have and its the first time I have seen a road worthy car since leaving England. I have also seen the biggest buildings ever, they are sky high blocks and they make you feel like an ant! Our hotel room is on floor 12!
we have just eaten tea here and it is a buffet and me and Kerry have had a bit of a laugh becuase we didnt know what anything was. I thought I had picked up chicken but it was fish, the beef had blood running out of it....etc....They had figs for afters which was funny becuase I did not know they were figs and thought they were pickled onions! they also had every type of balmonche going - Yuk!!!
I have felt as though I am a little drunk becuase I think my brain is getting a bit too much oxygen now compared to my time at height! We cannot speak a word of portugese so we have dabbled in a bit of English and Spanish. If anyone moans or thinks we ae rude we will just say we are American!
Well, time for bed as I am knackered. I will try to put some photos of Bolivia and some from here on the blog tomorrow.
