Madam Cuc was our destination-immaculate hotel in the centre-full of staff all tiny and beautiful-so willing to please -they remind me of little shiny eyed hamsters.Very tactile and extremely hardworking-something that could be learned by boat stupidesses. Ho Chi Min at first sight seems to be populated with a million bandana bedecked women bandits-on the verge of a giant traffic accident.In fact the pattern in the streets reflects a generalised organised chaos-in a city that attracts people from over the country hoping to better their fortunes.I have never seen so many motor bikes-but to pay credit where credit due-the driving standard is better than France and I have not heard a raised voice or aggressive honk.
