Tip No. 3 Don't say your from England...we went for Poland but the choice is yours! And making up a fake language is a bonus :)
From kandy we have now taken the train to Matara on the southern coast. The train was pretty nice but as usual very crowded and hot!! We then got a train to Tangalle about 45 minutes away. The bus drivers here don't really care if you have a massive bag or if you are hanging half way out of the bus when it sets off...safe to say me and rach have stayed away from buses since!!
The beaches here are totally stunning and you can go to lots of different ones up and down the coast - some are good for diving, swimming and one near us for turtle watching :)
We decided to go to marakolliya beach which was amazing and hardly anyone on it :) we both got sunburnt to a crisp (ehoh!!!) and left.
Whilst here we have also visited mulkirigala - this is a temple up a huge cliff with loads of Buddhas...we thought this would be a nice little walk up and have a potter about. Turns out Sri Lankans don't understand steps or hand rails. It ended up with Rachel sliding down half of them on her bum and us 2 being so sweaty :(
Southern Sri Lanka has been so different to what we have seen so far but it's definitely a place to come!!
We are flying to Singapore on Friday (tomorrow) and then a little flight to Bangkok on Saturday :)
Lots of love, Helen xxxxx
P.s. people here have NO train morals at all - anything goes apparently...walking on the tracks, hanging off the doors...today Rachel tried to get on a moving train but thought better of it :D

The fingered leopard That beach looks amazing! I wonder why they dislike England... a cricket thing maybe?
