Hey everyone!
Sorry I have been so slack with the entries but you'll all be pleased to know I've been having too much fun to edit the site!Â
Basically I had some issues with losing some photos in Vietnam and now I'm in Australia the internet cafes do not let you upload pictures on their computers. So close your eyes (after reading, obv) and just imagine the scenes I am describing. Until I invite you all round under the pretence of a dinner party and lock you in a dark room for 3 hours to do a slideshow of my holiday photos wohahaha!
So after our adventures on a rat-infested (ok there were a couple) boat in Halong Bay, Vietnam we carried on:
Hue: The buses in Vietnam defied gravity (think the night bus from Harry Potter) but we somehow got there in one piece. Visited the tunnels that the Vietnamese hid in during the Vietnam War, or as the locals have it 'The American War'. Amazing that people lived like this.Â
Hoi An: Stopped here by accident (the bus messed up our booking). THe hotel pool was lovely!
Nha TRang: Beautiful perfect beach, did some tanning and walked (erroneously, about 15,000 miles) to the longest over-sea cable car in the world.
Saigon: Got a culture injection by visiting the War museum, a harrowing guilt trip for westeners esp Americans but important to understanding the Vietnamese.Â
On to the South of Thailand, where our dream of Phi Phi Paradise was somewhat hampered by rotten weather, but we stayed in little beach huts and enjoyed the coast line. Saw the island where 'The Beach' was filmed and did some snorkling in very rough sea!
Singapore: If you ever need an extreme shopping excursion with everything you could imagine in one place, this is it. We may or may not have gone slightly over budget...
AUSTRALIA!
Cairns: went on an amazing Coral Barrier Reef boat trip, which was a bit rough (bleugh) but the snorkling was amazing. We found Nemo!Â
Airlie Beach: A fantastic boat trip for two days around the Whitsundays on a tall ship built in 1895 (that's old for Australia!).
Rainbow Beach: Took a trip to Fraser island, a UNESCO world heritage site because of it's unique ecosystems, wish I could show you the pics it was amazing. They have Rainforests, lakes, dingoes and a shipwreck. Cruised around in a massive 4x4 lorry thing all day, brilliant!
Brisbane: Nice to be back in a city after all that laid back stuff, cuddled some koalas and stroked some kangaroos. Well Laura did, I filmed it!Â
Currently in Byron Bay, weather is a bit pants. Next stop Sydney!!
