Sounds as if you are having a great time wish I could do the same.
I have started my new job and enjoying it. Thanks for the card by the way.
Prehaps I must try to come over to Japan sometime to see you
Hallooo you two! Latest pics of Cambodia look fantastic - it really does sound as if you are having a great time. I guess you're heading to Vietnam tomorrow - can't wait to hear what you make of it. Aki, we're lovin' the number 2! Did the hair gel just get too much?! Anyhoo, am glad to report that Isabella is doing well - still coughing up the most horrendous gunk you can imagine, but she's pretty sparky and enjoying having her mummy at home with her....well, I like to think so anyway! Thanks to Holly and Arnla for your kind wishes and congratulations on the job, Arnla!! South of France, eh? I can think of worse places to work! The sun is actually shining in Newcastle today, so I am going to bundle Isabella up in several layers and head into town on a Mother's Day mission before taking Issy for her first trip to the dentist: wish me luck! Stay cool guys and lots of love, D & J & Issy-boo xxxxx
Hi Hels and Aki, I completely forgot about your travel journal until today! It has taken me quite a while to catch up on all your news. It sounds like you are having an amazing time. I got a phone call from your mum the other day saying that they had received something from dvla and had we not sent of the v5 for the golf. I was horrified and asked Tim and he had completely forgot!!!!! We have now sent it off! The car is now sitting at the site getting slowly more rusty and dad complaining that they will never be able to sell the house with it looking like a scarp yard. Im sure Tim will never begin grass track racing and it will end up where you were going to take it - never mind (we at least saved you the trip). Rach is still planning to go to Bolivia at the end of April, although I have just received an email from her from Cape Verdes where she is on holiday on her tod for three weeks. She seems to be finding it quite hard on her own and missing home and now is woundering how she is going to cope for two years! Mind due she has let her house out and given her notice in at work so she is not sure what she will do if she doesnt end up going. Im sure she will and she will love it.
Donna and jon - I am so sorry to hear about isabella - but glad to hear that she is on the mends.
Anyway I will be in touch again soon and miss you lots and lots.
Look forward to hearing all your news from Cambodia.
Lots and lots of love hols and Timxxxx

Hey you crazy pair!
Loving the pictures. Seemed like you had a great time in the islands. Hopefully you are finding Cambodia and all the amazing history of the Khmer people fascinating too. We loved it. You have to see the West coast of Thailand on a later pass through that place. No doubt you will be back through there and will see more of Bangkok too. It will be like going home.
We have some news too. We are moving to the South of France sometime in the summer. I have taken that job although am a little ahead of myself as have yet to hand in my notice but hopefully my bosses don't read your site!?
We will be about an hour and half from the med and from the mountains which will be perfect. Still a few months away but exciting nonetheless.
Donna - hope Issy is feeling better and you and Jonathan can get some sleep!
Take care everyone and lots of love to the travellers.

Hey guys,
Not sure whether you spoke to mum on Sunday and, thus, whether you know the latest. Anyway...Isabella decided to follow in her auntie Helen's footsteps over the weekend and got rushed into hospital on Sunday with , and I quote, "a very nasty form of pneumonia". She had a super high temperature (40 degress!!!!), her heart was beating fast and her oxygen saturation levels were lower than they should have been. A urine test, blood tests and a chest x-ray later, it was revealed that much of her right lung had a consolidated mass of infection and had partialy collapsed. Good Lord! Fortunately, we were in the right place and so she was hooked up to fluids and drugs straight away and has made brilliant progress!! She is now at home and we have to watch her like a hawk over the next couple of days to make sure that her temp remains down etc. She will have to go back as an outpatient in 4-6 weeks for another chest x-ray to see how well the infection mass has broken up. At this point, the doctors may well decide to run some tests to see if any underlying cause for the infection can be isolated.
Through all of this, Isabella has been AMAZING!! So brave and so sweet. She's chuffed to bits that part of the physio that we have to do with her ( to encourage movement of this gunk off her chest) is blowing bubbles!
Mummy and daddy are exhausted...a childrens' ward is not the best place to catch up on one's beauty sleep, after all. To be honest, I feel like I'm totally jet-lagged. That said, Jonathan and I do now feel wholly qualified for small, walk-on parts in Casualty or Holby City as we are able to bandy words such as pyrexic and taciocardic about the place and know what they mean!! (I said we could use them in conversation, not spell them, ok?!!). We are just so thankful the Isabella is back home and on the mend.
Of course, we'll keep you posted as to her progress.
Take care and lots of love,
Donna, Jonathan and Issy-boo x x

Hey guys! Looks like your having an INCREDIBLE time....so jealous as it's frosty and snowing here in Newcastle. You must be in Cambodia by now - can't wait to here what you have to say about it. Chez Dowden, all is well. Isabella is,of course, just a peach. We have erected the ladybird tent you gave her for Chrimbo and she simply adores it!! She has exclusive little tea parties in there for her dolls and it also doubles as her car in which she makes multiple visits to Marks & Spencer and Granny's house!! Bless! Jon-boy and I had lovely birthdays (thanks for the card!), complete with birthday tea party. Of course, another VIP birthday will be upon us soon...mum, dad and Ed will be up next w/end for Isaac's 1st b/day...can you believe it?! Sarah's flat out making party bags and pass the parcel! Should be a hoot.
Anyhoo, best love to you both - we miss you masses!

Hi Helen and Aki.
This is your auntie Ann , Uncle Brendan and cousins calling from Tullycar. We got your address from Kathleen in Ederney. Hope your travels are going well. When do you expect to be in Ireland? All us Irish cousins could meet up with both of you for a night's craic - any excuse for a drink!!! Let me know if your interested in this and I'll make arrangements. Take care and enjoy your tour of the world.
