Helen and Aki's Dekai Honeymoon Da Yo!!!!
Hello!!
Well El Salvador has been a pleasnat surprise for us! We were both a bit apprehensive about coming as we'd heard all about how dangerous it is here but we've found the people to be most friendly and welcoming! (though most of them are packing guns...).
Our first stop was the wonderful little town of La Palma, where El Salvador's most famous artist Fernando El Llort has mentored and taught the locals to paint in his own unique style. We were amazed to see almost all the buildings in the streets brightly painted with murals. It was the prettiest town we've ever seen!! Check out our photos!!!
Then we spent a lovely day in Suchitoto where we ate wonderful pupusas..the local speciality. They are cheese or beans or rice filled tortillas....delicious!!
Next stop was San Salvador where we enjoyed shopping at the big mall and also visited Fernando Lllort's gallery and the cathedral in the centre which he painted. Then we spent one night in San Vicente before heading back to Honduras.
So, El Salvador was a fleeting visit but a worthy one!!!
Next stop..Nicaragua!!
